AI Disclaimer & Transparency
At tactico., we believe AI can transform football team management by giving coaches tools they've never had before. But AI should be transparent, responsible, and supportive — not something mysterious or misleading.
This page explains how we use AI, what it can and cannot do, and how you should approach AI-powered insights within the tactico platform.
1. Purpose of Our AI Features
tactico uses artificial intelligence to:
- Identify patterns in match and training data.
- Provide tactical recommendations (e.g. formations, substitutions, training focus).
- Deliver insights on player performance and squad combinations.
- Help clubs save time by automating parts of match tracking and analysis.
AI is designed to be a coach's assistant, not a replacement for human judgment.
2. Limitations of AI Insights
While powerful, AI has limitations:
- Not always correct: Outputs may contain inaccuracies, gaps, or unexpected suggestions.
- Context matters: AI does not know all the factors a coach considers — such as player mood, off-pitch dynamics, or weather conditions.
- Support, not substitution: AI provides recommendations, but final decisions remain with coaches and clubs.
- Evolving technology: AI systems learn and improve over time, but no guarantee of perfection can be made.
3. Responsibility of Coaches & Clubs
- Coaches and clubs remain fully responsible for tactical, training, and player welfare decisions.
- AI insights must not be relied upon as the sole basis for critical decisions, especially where they may affect player health, safety, or well-being.
- Clubs are responsible for ensuring that use of AI insights complies with safeguarding and duty of care obligations.
4. Data Use in AI Systems
- Player & Club Data: AI features analyse match, training, and roster data entered into the platform by coaches and clubs.
- Anonymisation: AI systems may use aggregated and anonymised data to improve performance — individual players or clubs are never identified.
- No child data for training: We do not use children's personal data (e.g. names, contacts, medical info) to train AI models.
- Privacy first: All AI processing is covered by our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.
5. Safeguards in Place
We have built guardrails into tactico's AI to ensure it is used responsibly:
- Human-first design: AI never makes decisions on your behalf; it provides options and insights only.
- Transparency: AI-generated insights are always labelled clearly.
- Safety: AI will never provide medical, diagnostic, or welfare advice.
- Security: AI systems operate within the same high-security environment as the rest of the platform.
6. Acceptable Use of AI Features
By using tactico's AI features, you agree not to:
- Misuse AI for harmful or unlawful purposes.
- Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or manipulate AI systems.
- Rely solely on AI outputs where doing so could compromise player safety or welfare.
7. Our Commitment to Responsible AI
We are committed to:
- Transparency: Making clear what AI is doing and what it is not.
- Coach-first design: AI built around the realities of grassroots and professional football.
- Continuous improvement: Monitoring and refining AI features based on feedback.
- Ethical standards: Ensuring AI supports the spirit of the game, not undermines it.
